Ms. Antoinet's April Newsletter - 2010 |
Spring has arrived! This is always an exciting time, a time to plant seeds and watch everything grow, including the children.
After being “snowed in” this winter everyone seems to enjoy the spring and wants to spend more outside time with their family.
We had a lot of fun on the day we celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day. The children are always excited about the Leprechauns that leave their “dust” in the classroom. We enjoyed dancing to Irish music and watching Danielle and her sister performing the Irish Jig!
Thank you, Katy Cavazos, for bringing the Irish dance costumes. We had a wonderful time!
Parent/Teacher Conferences:
We will hold parent/teacher conferences on Monday April 19 and Thursday, April 22. At this time we will be discussing your child’s progress. Please check the sign-up sheet on the desk in order to reserve your slot. There will be no school on April 22, so please make sure to make arrangements for the care of your child. There will be school on April 19.
Group Units:
This past month we studied reptiles and worked on more phrases, colors, days of the week, months of the year and numbers in Dutch. Two children of our class are “planning a trip to Holland”!
Next month we will dedicate our cultural unit to “Everything about Holland”. So, if you have any Dutch blood or any Dutch connection and would like to give a presentation that is related to the Dutch culture, please contact me.
We will be making wind mills, eat Dutch food, listen to Dutch music, etc.
Gratitude:
Many thanks to Julie Ward (Maggie’s mom) for making these beautiful Easter eggs with the children. We appreciate your patience!
I also want to thank Adrienne Archibeque (Khadijah’s mom) for her wonderful presentation on music. The children were quite involved and had a great time!
And many thanks to all who have been donating fruit/veggies and desert on our pizza days!
Have a Wonderful Spring,
Ms. Antoinet, Ms. Maria, and Ms. Laura
