Ms. Dawn's April Newsletter - 2010

The weather is finally staying warm! Yeah! And we have begun some planting! So far we have planted individual sunflowers and have started some veggies outside! The sunflowers have sprouted already! We have also been learning the differences between mammals and birds and will  have some caterpillars joining our class this week and hopefully see them turn into butterflies! –Thanks Kristen and Piper Terlesky!

Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, we have started a mural in our class of the Earth. You will notice the handprints are of your children and the continents are also their work!  We are learning the importance of recycling and will be reading The Lorax by Dr.Seuss.

Conferences

I have put out a sign-up sheet for our conferences on the desk in the hallway. My conference days are April 22 and April 26. There will not be school on Thursday.  There will not be any childcare on Thursday, so please make arrangements for your children so we can speak freely.  I am sure I have only good things to say about your children, but it makes conversing much easier!

Thanks to everyone who has offered to bring in veggies and fruit for Pizza Day. We have one only day left to fill! And thank you to everyone for bringing in healthy treats for their Star of the Week/birthday celebrations!

Happy Spring Everyone!
