Director's Spring Update

Dear Parents,

A few updates as we head into Spring:
  1.  If your child will be absent please call the school line and leave a message on the answering machine.  The church office is overwhelmed by calls during holiday seasons and since we have our own line it is best to call the 266-0099 number.
  2. When dropping off or picking up your child please us the North entrance of the building off the school parking lot.  The south entrance is for visitors to the church and school.
  3. An inservice day was posted as “to be announced” on our school calendar.  Due to the flood a few weeks ago we will not take the inservice day.  Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation and a special thank you to the parents who called and offered their time to clean and help get us up and running again.  You are so thoughtful to think of us!
  4. Upcoming dates to be sure to mark on your calendars:
    • March 14 Daylight Savings Time (change your clocks forward!)

    • March 15-19 Spring Break (no school)

    • March 25 Deadline for 2011-2012

    • Registration April 5 Vernal Holiday (no school)

    • April 22 Parent/Teacher Conferences (no school)

    • May 26 Last Day of School

    • May 27 End of Year Celebration and Graduation
      (times according to class)

  5. In the past our end of the year party has been held in the park and both classes performed together.  Due to the addition of the new Pre-K class we have too many children and family members  to hold our event together.  Our new plan is to hold each class performance separately here at the school on the morning of May 27th.  We will begin in the morning with Carolyn’s class at 9:30, her class will perform in the sanctuary then enjoy light snacks in the fellowship hall.  Antoinet’s class will perform at 10:30 in the sanctuary and enjoy light snacks in the fellowship hall.  Dawn’s class will perform at 12:00 in the sanctuary and enjoy light snacks in the fellowship hall.  We feel like this is the best way for everyone to enjoy this special day and see one another before we are closed for the summer.  More information and invitations will be out later with more details.  Just be sure to mark your calendars for your child’s performance time.

In closing we would like to say a special good-bye and best wishes to Laura, Phil, Victoria and Lincoln Smith as they head back to Texas.  I personally had the privilege of working with Laura for about two years before I came to St. Timothy’s and her loving, easy going manner with the children has always been a joy to see each day.  I have known Laura and Phil since they wanted to be parents and now they have two wonderful children who we will dearly miss.  Victoria always brightens my day with her cheerful hello and adorable smile in the morning.  And a special thank you goes out to her husband Phil who solicited to get the carpets donated in both Pre-K classrooms.  So as they move on to this new phase of their life, best of luck and thank goodness for email, texting and facebook so we can keep in touch!

Sincerely,
Debby Woodworth
