Debby Woodworth: Director
I am the Director of St. Timothy’s Montessori School.  I am in my 26th year of Montessori education in the Albuquerque area, and my 10th year at St. Timothy’s Montessori School. I received my Montessori training through the National Center for Montessori education, a satellite program through San Diego State University.  I taught and directed over the past 25 years, and have served as director since 2008.  I feel the Montessori approach is one that encourages a love of learning through hands-on experiences.  This approach to teaching young children allows the child the freedom and independence to explore while encouraging respect for the environment and other individuals.

I live in Corrales and I have a 20-year-old son, Clayton who is a junior at UNM.  I also have a stepdaughter, Brenna, who has four little boys.  In my spare time I like to play golf, travel, dance, and work in my yard.  As a child, school was always a very positive and memorable time for me and I hope to help create that atmosphere for your child and family this year.  I am excited to see the old faces and meet the new ones!

Jo Iverson: Preschool-Kindergarten Teacher
I was born and have lived in Albuquerque all my life.  I attended the University of Albuquerque, majoring in early childhood education.  When I discovered the Montessori philosophy, I knew I had a perfect and natural connection with this type of education. I have worked in Montessori school since 1978, and I was certified through NCME-AMS in 1982.  I love working with and watching young children develop into strong, independent individuals  that find joy in learning. I’ve been married for 32 years and have a 21-year-old daughter.  She recently graduated from CNM in Culinary Arts and works at a café and bakery.  I enjoy spending time with my family and my cat “Dude.” I am very happy to be working at St. Timothy’s and I look forward to a wonderful and rewarding school year.

Carolyn Joule: Early Preschool Teacher
I am an Albuquerque native and attended St. Mary’s grade and high school for 12 years.  After attending UNM for two years I married and moved to several different states and countries.  I have two grown children and have loved working with young children for over 30 years.  I have been back in Albuquerque since 1992.  My hobbies are spending time with my family and friends, walking, attending the symphony, musical events, and traveling when I can.  I have been a Montessori Teacher for two to six-year-olds since 1998.  I am excited to be in my seventh year at St. Timothy’s teaching the early preschoolers.  I love this age group and look forward to another great year and working with the new and returning families.

Maria Sisneros: Preschool- Kindergarten Assistant
I am glad to say I have been a part of St. Timothy’s since 2002 and have always had a passion for working with children and watching their minds and bodies grow.  I also have three children of my own: Patricia who is 18, Thomas who is 14, and my youngest is Jeremy, who is four. Jeremy is in the pre-kindergarten class and loves his time and friends in the classroom.  I enjoy spending time with my family  traveling to different states to race cars and BMX bikes.  I am looking forward to a wonderful new school year working with your children and hope to assist you in any way so that we have a great year together.

Laura Armijo: Preschool – Kindergarten Assistant
Hello everyone and welcome to St. Tim’s. I’ve been with St. Tim’s Montessori for six years. I began working with St. Tim’s as Ms. Carolyn’s assistant in the early preschool classroom.  I decided to relocate to Taos for a year and returned to Albuquerque and St. Tim’s. I am in the process of taking my Montessori training. I love working with children and I have four of my own: Santiago is 21, Angelina is 20, Christian is 16, and Noah is 9, an alumnus of St. Tim’s.

Kristen Terlesky: Preschool - Kindergarten Assistant
I am thrilled to be joining St. Timothy’s Montessori School this year as an Assistant Teacher in Ms. Larissa’s classroom! I am married and have two children, both of whom attend St. Timothy’s. Prior to my most recent job as a stay-at-home-mom I worked as an elementary Special Ed teacher with APS for several years. My husband and I relocated to Albuquerque five years ago from Washington, DC where I also taught. I spend my time cooking, gardening, running, and chasing after my kids. I am looking so forward to getting to know you and your children, and being part of such a wonderful community.

Denise Talamante: Preschool  - Kindergarten Assistant
I feel so blessed to be joining the St. Timothy’s Montessori School family. I currently live in the beautiful East Mountains along with my husband of 21 years. Together we have two wonderful children, an 18-year-old son and a12-year-old daughter. We enjoy spending our time involved with our children’s individual activities and interests.

I have come to familiarize myself with the Montessori philosophy through my mother, who has been working for Montessori schools for the past 25 years. Both of my children have had the privilege to experience the Montessori method of education. I continue to be amazed at how effective and inspiring Montessori is in developing life-long learners. With the upcoming school year, I look forward to helping your children experience the joy of learning and I am fully committed to aiding your children in this key stage of development.

Bonnie Scheehl: Assistant Early Preschool
I am so excited to be joining the staff here at St. Timothy’s full-time this year. I have been a sub here for about six years. I love working in the atmosphere that the Montessori method encourages. My husband Rob and I have been married for 28 years. We live in Los Lunas. We have two grown daughters, Heather and Jennifer,  they are both married. We also have a granddaughter, Soren who is four. She will be attending St. Timothy’s this year.

Working with young children is a lot of fun for me. I started out volunteering in the classroom when my daughters were in elementary school. From there I was hired by the Los Lunas Public Schools to help set up and work for their GRADS program; a program for pregnant and parenting teens. It was a really good experience for me. I am really looking forward to working with your children.
